In 2019, Dr. Farghaly led a collaborative research project with a team of his students, including Nouran Maher, Noha Sliem, Omar Alaa, and Moataz Yehia. The team worked together to develop a conceptual campaign aimed at addressing the issue of depression in youth. Leveraging a multidisciplinary approach that blended creative design principles with empirical insights from the field of psychology, the team sought to create a campaign that would raise awareness and provide strategies for fostering emotional expressiveness among the target demographic.


The project's foundations were rooted in a rigorous analysis of current trends and challenges within the mental health landscape, particularly as they pertained to the unique experiences and vulnerabilities of young individuals. Drawing upon the latest research in areas such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and social-emotional learning, the team designed a comprehensive campaign that incorporated a diverse array of communication channels and interactive touchpoints.


The campaign's conceptual framework was underpinned by a deep understanding of the complex interplay between psychological, social, and environmental factors that contribute to the prevalence of depression in youth. Kestha) was one of Dr. Farghaly's primary humanistic interests. It was a conceptual campaign that was meticulously designed and presented under his full supervision as a graduation project in 2021. A team of his talented students, including Maryam Magdy, Saif Ayman, Yossef Ali, and Mostafa Khaled, collaborated to bring this innovative vision to life.


The project embodied Dr. Farghaly's profound dedication to exploring the intersection of human-centered design and social impact. With a keen eye for detail and a profound understanding of the human experience, he guided his students through the creative process, nurturing their talents and empowering them to push the boundaries of what was possible.


The resulting (Kestha) campaign was a testament to the power of collaborative creativity and the transformative potential of design.
